Tenerife and Canary Islands Weather & Temperatures. Tenerife is warm (and can be hot) all year round. October through May is regarded as being the "golf season in Tenerife" because it is usually possible to play golf in Tenerife throughout the day. It is also possible to play golf in the summer months but you will either want to play very early in the morning or to start at about four in the afternoon - in the summer a buggy is very good idea.

In the summer months (June to September) temperatures often hit 28-30°C and can be higher. In general, Canary Islands weather is excellent all year round. These days, most cars on Tenerife are air conditioned and this is really essential when renting a car - the Canary Islands weather can be hot even over the Christmans period. Car Rental in Tenerife is very inexpensive - an air-conditioned Opel Astra is around £99 per week and petrol at around £1.40 per gallon is for all practical purposes free!

It is the predictable Canary Islands weather that has made Tenerife a favourite Winter Sun destination with many retired Germans, Belgians, French and British choosing to spend the entire Autumn and Winter on the island.
